This collection of poems was set by hand using lead type and Lego pieces and printed on a Vandercook proof press. The binding is in the French style with laced on boards and the signatures sewn on meeting guards. The cover features inlay and onlay of yellow buffalo leather. The height gradation, spacing and the melting of the inlays and onlays over the cover edges evoke a feeling of the title disappearing and/or reappearing.
I believe this fits the theme in the sense of “smoke and mirrors” is a term often used to describe magic or illusions. The design gives the illusion of the title disappearing or appearing into the cover.
